Are You Drinking Enough Water? 14 Reasons You Should Drink More

How much water to drink a day? Drink 64 oz of water a day

How Much Water Should You Drink A Day?

Water is one of the most essential nutrients we need to maintain a healthy body. In fact the average adult is made up 60% water (1) A scientific research review reported that consumption of less than 1.8 liters of water a day increases the risk of a dysfunctional metabolism and chronic diseases(2). 64oz(half gallon) is equivalent to about 2 liters of water, so the recommendation of 8, 8oz cups a day just may be true.

Tips To Drink More Water

1. Eat it! Many fruits and vegetables contain more than 80% water, so if you eat more fruits and veggies like watermelon, celery, or cucumber you will take in more water. It all counts

2. Avoid sugary drinks like soda and juice, instead reach for water.

3. Carry a water bottle with you and fill it up throughout the day. I personally have two different water bottles I love to use that ensure I drink 2 liters of water every day. They are both motivational water bottles with words of motivation along the bottle to remind you to drink throughout the day. One is a 32 oz water bottle I take to work. I try to drink half by noon, refill it up and drink the rest later in the day. The other is 64oz(2L) half gallon jug which I leave at home and drink throughout the day. See pics below.
