Adalu Salad Recipe With Vinaigrette Dressing for Weight Loss

Many people turn to salad when trying to lose weight. Salad doesn't have to be made with boring lettuce it can be made with so many different vegetables. This recipe is a healthier pin on the Nigerian Adalu recipe with no oil. It's a quick and easy salad recipe that will leave you wanting more!

What you will need


  • 1 can corn (16 ounces)
  • 1 can beans (16 ounces) any type of beans of your choice.
  • 1 cucumber 
  • 1 tomato 
  • 1/2 onion 
  • 1 bell pepper 
  • 1 avocado 
  • Cilantro

Vinaigrette Dressing Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
  • 1 lemon squeezed (2-3 tablespoons lemon juice)
  • Spices to taste; I use salt, garlic powder, turmeric, and pepper


  1. Wash and chop all veggies
  2. Wash and drain canned veggies
  3. Add all veggies to large salad bowl (you can add avocado later to prevent from mashing but if you don’t mind add avocado now as well)
  4. In separate bowl mix all of your dressing ingredients together
  5. Pour dressing on top of veggies 
  6. Mix dressing and veggies together
  7. Garnish with cilantro
  8. Enjoy alone, with avocado on the side or with your choice of lean meat! This makes about 3 servings.
