Weight Loss as easy as 2-1=1???

Yes losing weight can be as easy as 2-1= 1 for those of you who can't remember the last time you worked out or have more than 30 lbs of fat to lose. This fact remains true simply due to the fact that weight loss is a numbers game. You've all heard it, take in more calories than you expend through daily activity and you gain weight; or expend more calories than you take in creating a caloric deficit in your body and you lose weight.

Our bodies respond to change in diet and activity level by either holding on to weight or letting weight go. So beginning your weight loss battle can be as easy as 2-1, if you begin to make small changes in your life. First, one must know that 1 pound or 2.2 kg of weight is equal to 3,500 calories. So if one can create a calorie deficit of at least 500 calories a day you would be on your way to losing 1 pound a week.

Easy ways to cut 500 calories day:

1. Add 20-30 minutes of exercise a day. This can be in the form of walking, jump roping, jogging, body weight circuit, or any recreational sport you enjoy playing. Depending on the form of exercise you chose and your body weight you can burn anywhere from 100 calories to 400 calories in 20-30 minutes of exercise.

2. Eat smaller portion sizes. Maybe you don't eat too much junk food, but your portions are huge. Simply cutting down on your portion sizes can do wonders in helping cutting down on calories. Think of one portion of anything as being the size of your fist. The only foods really with unlimited portions are vegetables, with the exception of starchy vegetables.

3. Cut out the Junk food! 1 serving of a cookie or cake can have upwards of 400 calories, so by simply cutting out the junk food (cake, cookies, soda, sugary juices, ice cream, biscuits) you can cut a lot of calories from your diet. Obviously we want to take baby steps. If you are used to eating junk food everyday, going cold turkey may not work for you. Instead of cutting them out completely at first, limit yourself to two small treats a week, and then proceed to once a week, and then just on special occasions.

To begin your weightless battle you don't want to focus on just eating healthfully or exercise, but using both of these will successful help  you lose the weight and keep the weight off.
